We spent last week camping up in the Black Mountains around Mount Mitchell, North Carolina...highest mountain east of the Mississippi. At our campground at 5300 ft elevation I found plants of Spiranthes lacera in bloom in the mowed areas and Goodyea

I have a plant of Cyc. barthiorum that dutifully blooms every year. But it only produces a single new cane a year. The old cane always dies so it has never beeb anything more than a two growth plant. How can I estimulate this plant to produce more
