Description
This is an Ecuadorian species of tall plants. The flowers are similar to Epidendrum. The long cane-like stems are covered with brown, small warts. The flowers are born at the top of the stem, but also at the opposite side of the terminal leaves as can be seen in the photo.
The species was originally described in Epidendrum, and then transferred to Oerstedella. Now, Kew wants it back to Epidendrum!
The plant in the photo lost all eyes and I thought I was going to loose it, but fortunately a keiki is arising from more or less the middle of the stem!!
