After a long winter's sleep, we are up and running again. We're adding new established seedlings to the offerings list, and lots of flasks are coming into maturity.

As usual, many of the established seedlings get snapped right up when they are posted, but there are probably a few that didn't. The list can be seen here: Established Seedlings http://troymeyers.com/seedlings . Hopefully when you look not everything is gone! Over the holidays, because the list had dwindled to perhaps 5 plants, I got some emails asking if we were still in business. We've got a lot to add, so the list will keep expanding in the next few weeks.

Also, for flask lovers, I'd like to point out the new way to find in-progress flask items that are worth your while reserving. Because we make flasks when they are requested, not on speculation, we normally don't have many spare flasks so the best way to get flasks is to find things we have in the works, that we have plenty of plantlets of, and reserve a flask -- we'll make it for you. To see the list of things that fit this description, look at our fast-turn flask list http://troymeyers.com/fast-turn .

Thanks to everyone for their continued support!

-Troy

I was just wondering - Certainly it is possible to know which species are more in demand, by looking at the reservations/sales history. Why those flasks couldn't be made prior to have been requested? I am sure they would sell with no problems after they became available, resulting in much higher sales and shorter wait time for us.

Hey, Armandon,

I just noticed this and thought I'd reply in Troy's stead. I make the flasks at Meyers so I can answer this question.
In actuality I DO make more flasks than are ordered of species that I know will be desirable, if it's possible. I also move unordered plants into larger farms so they can grow larger and any newly ordered flasks will take less time.

However there are two reasons that I can't do this as much as I would like to. One is space, I only have so much of it and the second is that my inventory is perishable! If a flask goes unsold after several months toxins start to build up in the flask and the plants begin to deteriorate. If we have to pot the flask in the greenhouse then we are again running up against the space issue and we've committed to at least another 3 months of holding on to the plants until they are ready to be sold as we must let them acclimate to the pot. This adds time, labor and materials costs to a business that already doesn't charge enough to make a profit.

That said, I looked into our unreserved flasks last week and at this point we have 290 unreserved flasks in our inventory, 80+ of which are ready to ship right now. Our last shipment of the year is December 7.

I hope this answers your questions!
