What did you leave under Michael's table? I got the cutest Howeara Lava Burst 'Puanani' from him. I think he was the only vendor to carry them.

Well, I am now "healed" enough to sit at the computer for a short period of time, though not enough to go to work. Hopefully, tomorrow.

Ray, it was lovely meeting you! I was trying to be a trooper about the whole thing and continuous dosing with Motrin helps in the department. Today I asked my Dr. for some muscle relaxants to finish the healing as I am still having too many spasms to do much.

Yesterday, we stopped at Hausermann's and Fox Valley but there was minimal damage to the wallets. I thought to call Oak Hill before we drove out there to retrieve our plants, and Erich had packed up and left about 20 minutes before. I will call him shortly to arrange to have them shipped. I am especially looking forward to that bellina, which has really beautiful form! Instead, we picked up barbeque from a favorite place and took it to my Dad's along with a big bag of homegrown tomatoes. Made a nice feast while watching the Bears win!

I was happy to see that the classic big white phals are making a comeback, as good ones have been scarce the last several years. About the time I got into orchids (1988, I think it was), you could still lay hands on a few but all the growers were concentrating on novelties (art-shades, reds, yellows, multi-florals, etc). Don't get me wrong - I enjoy all of those but the big whites will always be my faves so I was delighted to note the Asian breeders and a few others were really starting to concentrate on them a few years back. The Phal. Paloma I selected for Angela is lovely, the Big Joke I got myself is very nice, and the Taisuco Wonder is probably the best big white I've seen in 10 years. Picking up another nice amabilis was the icing on the cake (although it hardly classifies as a "big white"). I am enjoying looking at all of them on the sideboard, the pristine blooms floating and dancing on every tiny breeze. It's been awhile since I was affiliated with the IPA so all of those may not be the latest in breeding, but I was happy to be able to find quality whites again!

White Phals were my husband Jose's favorites. Once he bought ten of the same cross from Carmela!

Glad to know your are feeling better. I know what are you feeling. Nothing worse than to have a hurting back! Be careful with Motrin, it can blow off your kidneys from one day to the next!

WOW what a haul! There are a lot of great choices in there that is for sure

I just added the Constantia cipoensis to my list of plants I must get from Andy the next time I order! Was it a decent looking plant?

Tom,
It was smallish but I thought it decent enough. Here's a pic, taken in very low evening light - not the sharpest.
