I have a large Cym that is in a 10" pot. It was in bloom when I bought it about 6 months ago. Some of the leaves are about 36" in length. It has also sprouted three new growths that are now about 12" in length. The plant is very crowded in this pot and I would like to repot it into S/H. Can I safely separate this plant into three pieces? i.e. remove each of the new growths along with maybe one or two back bulbs and repot? or should I just plop the whole shebang into a large pot with S/H media?

Thanks.......

Well...

Are you looking for several plants, or would you like a massive one you can barely move?

Personally, I love the massive specimen idea, but it all depends on whether that's practical for you.

I love the specimen sized plants as well. You can always put it on one of those thingies with casters on the bottom if size is an issue. I used to have some of those for huge houseplants. Worked like a charm. JUST remember to oil those puppies.

yea but you started those 40 years ago. poke

Casey if you do split it apart with an axe leave at least 3 if not 5 pBulbs per clump for better overall growth potential.
Old leafless back bulbs that fall off can be potted up separately if they still have active eyes left.
