Finally, my seedling of Blc. Owen Holmes x C. Chocolate Drop has bloomed. (should probably make a point of repotting the poor thing, it's still in a 2.5" pot) I was expecting a deep red. However, I was very surprised as it began to open when it was... orange. Very orange. With a dark wine red lip. It has an extremely heavy texture like Chocolate Drop, but not the waxiness. It's quite fragrant.

Next, a really cool hybrid is blooming out. I've been watching this spike grow with anticipation the past couple of months. Renanopsis Embers 'Woodland's Best' AM/AOS was a gift from a very gracious forum member. (Thank you!!!!) (Vndps lissochiloides x Ren monachica ) It's simply amazing! The color really is unbelievably bright-- a vivid deep yellow tinged with a touch of orange speckled with fire-engine red... WOW! laugh My favorite colors together in one bloom! It stays at the very top of the greenhouse near the *&^% Mokara and my schombos, so it gets a LOT of light.
