Today, I was scrounging around on the top shelf in the greenhouse, and trying to take a picture of Blc. Chia Lin when I found buds from another plant peeking through the foliage. LARGE buds just starting to unwind themselves. Apparently, Den. spectabile has decided to jump-start the blooming season-- or at least one spike has. There is one spike with buds opening, and the rest of the spikes are only a few inches long.

So, here's a sneak peek of the precocious spike. I'll post an update when the flowers are open (not the they are any less contorted!).
