Woola, I'd like to explain my 'no' vote.
Sometimes, not very often, moderators feel compelled to move prurient content from the un-password protected areas to the Spoodle Zone. Some of the content would scandalize even the most battle-hardened Woodsheders so I don't feel moving prurient content to the Wood Shed would be appropriate. The alternative to a Spoodle move would be a topic delete (I can hear the screams of "CENSORSHIP!" now) or a post edit which isn't always a pleasant option. Having the Spoodle Zone allows the moderators to 'flush the terlet'.
There's a lot of trash on the 'net; some of it's funny, some of it isn't. Having the Spoodle Zone is probably a good outlet for those that wish to share without impinging on the gray area of social acceptability and a cesspool for topics from those who are completely clueless about the concept.
If you'd like to have the storage space, I can't think anyone would be upset if you deleted all the topics except the Sasquatch Sighting topic which is more of a Public Service Announcement/Advisory.

I agree with Dale. It is an outlet for those of us who feel the need to post something offensive. I mean, where else is it appropriate to post a picture of someone selling a mirror on eBay?
Anyhow there are some places that would be appropriate to delete threads for the sake of storage space. For example, I do not believe that posts over a month old are relevant in the "Orchid Trader" section. Additionally, since this is an orchid forum, any posts to "Chit Chat", "Political pit", and even "Announcements" that have been dormant for over 90 days can be deleted.
*Jon wanders off to update Ron's toilet thread*

Unfortunately, Daniel has publicly rejected his interest in moderating Chef's Place. There's a lot of work to do there. I nominate Forrest for moderator of Chef's Place. It's a good brand name; it just needs a moderator.

Adverse Possession cannot get axed. Nobody cares about Chef's Place. It's AP that people like.

Oh no! Please Woola, I think Chef should have to come back and fight to win his place back. (I watched 300 over the weekend!)

Woola, I belong to a couple of forums (baking and tropical fish) and they have "pinned" topics. Is that possible on this forum? A lot of the stuff that gets posted would be excellent for noobies and others who need a refresher but it gets lost in the shuffle. Just wondering.

I know about the FAQ area. It has ONE topic in it. I'm mostly talking about the questions noobies ask the most -- what is this bug, what is this spot on my leaf, is this a new growth or a spike? The pinned threads I am talking about stay in the subject area and always stay on top. Maybe it isn't possible with this forum software. That's why I asked Woola.
